	Five killed in accident on Interstate 91 (Meriden-AP) _ Five people were killed when a pickup truck slammed head-on into a Volkswagen Beetle on the southbound side of Interstate 91. The Nissan truck was traveling in the northbound lanes at about 7:15 p.m. Friday when it crossed the 90-foot grass median a struck the car, said Lt. Ralph Carpenter, a state police spokesman. The accident occurred between exits 16 and 15. Two men and a woman in the Volkswagen were pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger died later after being flown to Yale-New Haven Hospital. The male driver of the pickup also was killed. The four in the car were identified as 60-year-old Gerard H. Weitzman of Cromwell, 59-year-old Esther Weitzman, 52-year-old Frank V. Zlotowski, and 51-year-old Rosemary Loffredo of Middletown. The driver of the truck was 40-year-old Jose E. Ribiero of West Hartford. Police did not release the names of the victims Friday.
