* Some Play As Cleanup gets Underway from Snow Storm
(Waterford-WTNH) _ Many resident's around the state are wishing this latest storm is winter's last blast. The snow proved to be an inconvenience for some today.
News Channel 8's Peter Standring reports from our Southeastern Newsroom at The Day.

Fallen tree There's a cleanup effort underway in the Sventosky's front yard. All the snow they got brought down a big part of this old maple tree and most of it ended up in the driveway.

Alex Sventosky, Waterford: "Oh sure, it took me by surprise because they said Spring is coming, who expected a big snow storm like this, ya know?!"

Tell that to the folks in Norwich. they got about about 8 1/2 inches of very heavy, very wet snow! it sure made for some slow going!

Peter: "How much longer you going to be out here?"
David D'Antuono, Norwich: "Until 6 or 7 tonight."
"Really? So, its a long day."
"Yeah a very long day!"

It's also been a 'long day' for merchants in downtown New London. With many people home from work, and parking on city streets all but impossible, many businesses simply stayed shut.

Brian Desautell, "Thames River Greenery": "If there's no traffic downtown, we're not gonna get people inside, so we just decided to close."

Sledders One of the few places where all this wet snow was welcome was Washington Park in Groton. Last winter they had to make snow here but this year they're happy to see mother nature do most of the work.

Joy Arzoumanian, Groton: "We were at home with our mom playing lots of games and then she went to work so our dad came and we went sledding!"

Jake Arzoumanian, Groton: "We're all having a blast! it's a good snow day, this is for the kids, and we're just gonna enjoy a little weather!"
Peter: "Sledding's good?"
"Excellent, very good, we're havin' a blast."
