* UConn Men Advance to Sweet 16
UConn(Denver-AP) _ The Connecticut Huskies are headed to Phoenix, but their sights are set on St. Petersburg. The top-seeded Huskies scored the first 17 points of the game and cruised into the round of 16 with a 78-56 win over overmatched New Mexico at the West Regional on Saturday. The Huskies (30-2), seeking their first trip to the Final Four in coach Jim Calhoun's 13 seasons, held the Lobos scoreless for the first 7:12. After that, UConn seemed content to trade baskets the rest of the way with a New Mexico team that has lost four straight second-round games in the NCAA tournament. "That's two (wins) for us and we earned a trip to Phoenix," Calhoun said of the Huskies' next stop on what they are confident will be their first trip to the Final Four in St. Petersburg at the end of the month.

Two others also were wounded in the shooting. Police said the shooting was prompted by an ongoing dispute between the men, but they could not comment on the nature of that dispute. (Hartford-AP) _ A man suspected of smuggling heroin for a New York City-based drug ring has been sentenced to 13 years in prison. 45 year old Jose Penaloza was sentenced Friday for selling heroin, selling drugs near a school and racketeering. Police say Penaloza was arrested in May 1997 with 7,500 packets of heroin hidden in his car. Authorities say the drugs were worth about $100,000. * Investigator ordered to testify before Moxley grand jury
(Greenwich-AP) _ A private investigator has been ordered to tell a Connecticut grand jury about interviews with two Kennedy nephews considered suspects in the 1975 slaying of a Greenwich teenager. Suffolk County, New York judge Michael Mullen on Friday denied a motion by a lawyer for Michael and Thomas Skakel to quash a subpoena of the investigator, Willis Krebs. Connecticut prosecutors want Krebs to testify about interviews he conducted with the Skakel brothers, nephews of the late Robert F Kennedy who have been identified as suspects in the murder of 15-year-old Martha Moxley. Prosecutors say those interviews, conducted in the early 19-90s, show the Skakels maintained their innocence, but changed their stories. Krebs was scheduled to appear before the grand jury sitting in Bridgeport on March 24th.
