* Body Found in Hartford Neighborhood
(Hartford-WTNH) _ Hartford police have a murder mystery on their hands. A man's body was found in an apartment on Charter Oak Place Thursday morning. Police say there were signs of a struggle.
News Channel 8's Jocelyn Sigue reports.

Murder scene Residents of the building say they heard a commotion late last night, but they didn't call police until morning. That's when they found the door to apartment 22a this morning, and the victim lying dead inside.

Police describe him as a white male in his 40s, but they have not told how he was killed. One resident in the building says she knew him as Tom, but knew little else. Neighbors are shocked to see a murder in this quiet, affluent area. Aside from a few car break-ins, residents call Charter Oak Place crime-free.

Police doubted the murder was random. They got a search warrant just in case the victim's attacker was also living in the apartment.

Sgt. Bert Huertas, Hartford Police Dept.: "We think there is a possibility somebody may have been either visiting or staying, or somebody may have had something in the apartment, and to respect those rights and to protect the integrity of the case we went forward with the warrant to be safe."

Neighbors say as far as they knew the victim lived alone. Police are checking into rumors he was a street minister who took people into his home to help them. Police told residents the murder was not a random attack, but did not explain why they came to that conclusion. The victim is expected to be positively identified tomorrow.
