* Teenage girl collapses and dies
(Hartford-WTNH) _ Family and friends are trying to cope with the loss of 15-year-old Maribel Rosa. The Hartford teen died early yesterday after collapsing in her bedroom. Rosa is the second Bulkeley High School student to die in recent months. In April, 18-year-old Melanie Rosado also died suddenly. The two were only acquaintances, but, coincidentally, Rosa went to Rosado's funeral. But tonight it's still a mystery as to why Rosa died.
News Channel 8's Jayne Saffer has the story.

Melanie Rosa Sonia Robles is grief stricken over the sudden and mysterious death of her 15-year-old daughter. Maribel Rosa died early Tuesday but had no known medical problems.

Sonia Robles, Mother: "She was in good health she had no problems no asthma no nothing."

Rosa, a freshman at Bulkeley High School was sleeping with her little brother in their Hartford apartment. After complaining about the heat, she got up to get a fan and collapsed.

Jose Rosa, Brother: "She was taking the fan to come to my bedroom so she could sleep better when she plugged it in she blacked out she fell on me."

That's when her brother called 911. Rosa was rushed to Hartford Hospital and died a half hour later.

Maribel had told her mother that if anything ever happened to her, she wanted her organs to be donated to help other people. And today her family said that is exactly what will happen.

Robles: "She feels just like she just going to be an angel for the whole family she just helped everyone."

Rosa Today, her teachers at Bulkeley High School are trying to help others cope with the loss of the girl who stood out in her bilingual class. She had moved from Puerto Rico three years ago. Her teachers came in to let her classmates know about the tragedy.

Diane Hazel, Bulkeley High Teacher:"The reality hasn't hit home, and I just feel for her friends. I don't think Maribel had an enemy."

That sentiment was also expressed by her friends who are having a tough time dealing with this mysterious death.

Lydia Diaz, Hartford: "We were all together on Saturday. It just came all of a sudden. I just can't believe, it was just too soon."

Her family and friends are planning a wake for this Friday. Maribel will be buried in Puerto Rico, where she spent most of her life. The medical examiner's office is waiting for more test results in order to determine a cause of death.
