The FBI picked up 22 year old Adrian Peeler while he was hiding out in a Best Western motel room. When he gets back, he also faces additional weapons charges. The 22 year old Bridgeport man escaped from a halfway house in Hartford back in April of 1998. He is the younger brother of Russell peeler, the man who is a possible suspect in the double homicide of Leroy Brown, Jr and his mother, Karen Clarke. The 2 were found shot to death on January 7th in their Bridgeport duplex. The 8 year old was the key witness in a murder trial against Russell Peeler, Jr, who is accused of gunning down Clarke's fiance. No-one has been officially named as a suspect in the murders of Brown and Clarke. But police have now arrested Peeler's brother and father, Russell Peeler, Sr., who was taken into custody last night. The arrest of all three family members came after state police executed a search warrant at the father's home looking for Adrian Peeler, the one who escaped from a halfway house. In the process, authorities found a stolen gun. That was enough for police to book all three on weapons charges. Russell Peeler, Sr was freed on a $40,000 bond. ©1999 WTNH/WTNH-DT |
