* School Says Security is Increased After Student is Attacked
(New Haven-WTNH) _ A student at a local college has told campus authorities at Albertus Magnus someone sexually assaulted her early Wednesday morning. And now security is up on campus.
News Channel 8's Jocelyn Sigue reports.

A student was sexually assaulted in her room at this Albertus Magnus campus dormitory. Police say her attacker met her at the door at about two am. The college says it's stepped up campus security since the incident, but residents at Dominican Hall say where?

Mary Kate Carofano, West Haven: "We supposedly have a guard at the front door and a guard at the back door however you don't see it."

Stephanie Owens, Waterbury: "At least maybe have someone at the front door and anything that can maybe check people in and see what room they're going to who they're going to talk to."

Marie Noelle Esposito, Jamaica States NY: "I feel that there's not enough security being an open campus it's not easy to access security and we don't see them walking around all the time."

Michael Serpe, Albertus Magnus College: "We have 24 hour security on campus.. we have security people who walk the campus 24 hours a day."

Our news truck drove around the campus for a half hour early this morning searching for security guards and found none. Added to student concerns is that Albertus Magnus is just blocks away from the neighborhood here on East Rock Road where Yale student Suzanne Jovin was found murdered in December.

Michele Dagostino, Hamden: "It's a little bit scary thinking it could happen right here."

Even scarier students say to learn about the attack on the news - not from the school.

Nekesha Sweetland, Manchester: "We live there we live on the same floor and we didn't even know about it until we see the news and that's not right."

The suspect is described as a while male in his 20s, 5'11" with a thin build, and medium length brown hair.

The student who was attacked is ok, and was back on campus after the incident.
