Bank Boston has assets of $74 billion, but youngsters like Noelle and Michael are among the company's most precious holdings. Today was the first day for the company's "Snowy Day Program". Employees can now bring their children to work when school is cancelled because of snow. For Viola Brown, mother of 9 year old Vickey, the program means an end to panicky mornings, trying to line up day care at the last minute. It makes her... Viola Brown, BankBoston Worker: "Happy, very happy, knowing she could be with me here at work and play and feel good about it." 15 families have signed up for the program, which runs from 8:30 to 5:15, whenever school is closed in either Hartford or Windsor. All BankBoston employees in the area are eligible. Day care is provided by counselors from Bright Horizons Family Solutions. Parents can eat lunch with their kids or visit them throughout the day, meaning snow days don't have to be no-show days. "Now tomorrow, with the weather being bad ... I don't have to worry." Operations Manager Ann Thon's son Danny is in the program. She says it helps both her and her employees balance work and family. Ann Thon, Operations Manager: "A lot of them don't have alternative day care. They would stay home and I would lose productivity out here on the floor. Now they're here and they're happy.
