Chanthip and Blaine Jacobs were right in the middle of a New Year's party when an unexpected guest decided to show up. Blaine Jacobs, Father: "The party moved to the hospital." Their new little boy stepped into the world at 12:22 am. Weighing 6 pounds 4 ounces, measuring 18 1/2 inches, he came one month early. Jacobs: "We didn't even had a name picked." The Danbury couple finally settled on Brent Tristan Jacobs. They got another surprise when they learned that Brent is Connecticut's first baby of 1999. Chanthip Jacobs, Mother: "We were waiting for the ball to drop and instead something else dropped out." A bundle of joy right into their arms. Brent is the couple's third child. He has a one year old brother and a three year old sister. Less than one hour into the new year, a 21-year-old New Haven woman gave birth to twins boys. Divine and Dejohn were born to Kristina Fox just before 1 am. The twins are listed in stable condition at Yale-New Haven Hospital's New Born Special Care Unit. The boys also have a three-year-old sister, Aijah. And at 1:10 am, a New Hartford couple welcomed a son born at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington.
